FAQ

General Questions

What is a Renaissance Faire?
A Renaissance Faire is an interactive, fantasy-based recreation of a Renaissance or Medieval village. Our goal is to make you feel as if you have stepped back in time.
What happens at a Renaissance Faire?
Costumed actors, performers, crafts and games vie for your attention, and share their skills in an entertaining and fun setting.
How long does it take to see everything?
It depends on what you are interested in, but we recommend arriving as close to our 11:00 AM opening as possible, so you can be sure to see everything you want to see. We find that most patrons spend at least 5 hours at the event, and most stay until closing.
What are the dates and times of the Philadelphia Renaissance Faire?
The Philadelphia Renaissance Faire will take place at Fort Mifflin, near the Philadelphia International Airport. Dates: May 13, 14, 20, 21, 2017 Times: 11 am – 7 pm
Where is Fort Mifflin? What is the physical address?
Fort Mifflin’s address is 6400 Hog Island Road, Philadelphia, PA 19153. The easiest way to reach the venue is to go to the intersection of Enterprise Avenue and Fort Mifflin Road, then follow Fort Mifflin Road. The signs for the fort are on your left.
What makes the Philadelphia Renaissance Faire unique?
Every Renaissance Faire is unique, due to the different mix of performers and actors. A particularly interesting point of our event is that it does not limit attractions to a European-centric mix.
Where can I get tickets, and how much are they?
Tickets are available for purchase on our website, www.phillyrenfaire.com/tickets/. An adult ticket is $20. Tickets for children up to 12 years of age are $15.
Is there a discount if I come in costume?
The Philadelphia Renaissance Faire does not offer a discount for patrons coming in garb. We thank you for getting in the spirit of the event, and believe that folks in costume have more fun.
Can I leave and return during a festival day?
You may leave and return to the Philadelphia Renaissance Faire, provided you have a wristband. Wristbands are given out at the front gate. If you lose or remove your wristband, you will not be readmitted without an additional purchase.
What if there is bad weather?
The Philadelphia Renaissance Faire is a rain or shine event. As such, there is no refund of tickets for inclement weather.
Do you accept credit cards?
Many of our vendors accept credit cards, while others take cash only. We recommend bringing both for maximum flexibility. Please be advised that an ATM will be available on site, but your card may be subject to additional charges.
Is there a dress code?
Costumes are encouraged, and regular clothes are welcome. With that in mind, pathways aren’t paved at Fort Mifflin and the terrain is hilly, so we advise that you wear appropriate footwear.

Please be advised that the Philadelphia Renaissance Faire is a family-friendly event, and that we reserve the right to restrict admittance to patrons that we believe would negatively impact the experience of other patrons.

Can I bring my cell phone?
You may bring your cell phone to the Philadelphia Renaissance Faire. We ask that you be courteous during performances, particularly at indoor stages, and put your phone on silent or vibrate mode.
May I bring my pet?
Pets are not allowed at the Philadelphia Renaissance Faire, but service dogs are permitted. Please be aware that due to the location of the Faire planes pass low overhead, and cannons may be used over the course of the day. As such, service dogs trained to react to loud noises may respond to regular occurrences.
May I take photos and video at the events?
We welcome you to take photos and videos at the Faire for strictly personal use. Please do not film performances listed on your schedule. If you would like to use any images or footage for commercial purposes, or if you are a member of the media, you will need to contact [email protected] for permission and rights management.
